Coastal homes need the glass and tracks cleaned

In Santa Monica and Torrance, the ocean air leaves a thin film on windows and sliding glass doors. Sand gets tracked in and packs into the door tracks. Bathrooms that stay damp grow mildew in the grout.

So on a coastal home, we spend more time on the glass and the wet rooms. Mildew wipes away if you catch it early. Leave it and it stains the caulk for good.

Valley homes get dustier in summer

Glendale and Burbank sit inland by the foothills, and so does Pasadena. Summers there run hotter and drier than at the beach. Dust drifts in on hot days and settles on ceiling fan blades and the tops of cabinets.

That dust is fine, and it spreads every time a fan turns on. A standard clean with high dusting keeps it down. Every so often, a deep clean gets the vent covers too.

Older city homes hold years of grime

A lot of the housing in Los Angeles and Inglewood is older, and the same goes for South Gate and Downey. You'll see original tile bathrooms and hardwood floors. They last. But grout darkens, and old finishes hold dirt in every seam. Hawthorne has lots of apartments with tight kitchens, where grease settles on everything near the stove.

The first deep clean in an older home takes the longest. Once the grout and the kitchen are back, a standard clean keeps them there.
